Nathan Zamprogno. Independent Councillor for Hawkesbury City Council.

The election for Hawkesbury Council is this Saturday the 14th.

This is my last email newsletter to you before the election. I wanted to take the chance to share some just released statistics about Councillor attendance during this term of Council appearing in this month's Hawkesbury Post.

I wanted to share a brief video about who else I think you should be voting for (after you've voted for my team in GROUP 'H' of course!)

Lastly, a warning about an attempt by another ticket to capitalise on the 'brand' of a website I've run for some time called futureofthehawkesbury.com. Beware of imitations!

Sincerely,
Councillor Nathan Zamprogno
Who turned up and did their job during this term of Council?
Did you know that the Liberal and Labor Councillors voted against you getting a report card at the end of each Council term which summarises everyone's attendance and expenses?

I moved a motion at the start of this term three years ago to have just that kind of data tallied and summarised by staff. And not just attendance at the public, formal chamber meetings, but the other two thirds of meetings like briefings and workshops that represent the core of what Councillors are paid to do, but which happen out of the public gaze. Three months later, they rescinded the initiative so this data would not be gathered. I wonder why?

So I co-founded the Hawkesbury City Councillor Watch Facebook page and website to fill that gap. It recaps who voted for what after every Council meeting, and to summarise who turned up and did their job. Every voter should acquaint themselves with this information before voting.

The Hawkesbury Post exclusively reported on the statistics that have been gathered in this month's edition. Click on the chart below for a larger version.
Who else should you elect to Hawkesbury Council?
In this, my final video message to you before the election, I bring you what I wrote for my editorial appearing in the September edition of the Hawkesbury Post.

It may surprise you to see me spending my time praising others. But I don't just want to get re-elected. I'm upbeat about the possibilities of (and this is a radical idea I know), electing a chamber of twelve good citizens who actually like each other and can disagree without becoming disagreeable.
Our "How To Vote" recommendations
Whoever you choose to vote for, the important thing to remember is don't let your vote fizzle out! Either number ALL the squares above the line OR at least twenty below.
Our suggestions are based on who we believe will contribute positively to the next chamber.

Campaign Brochure
This brochure has now been distributed in most Hawkesbury suburbs. It lays out what I have done, what I stand for, and what we think needs to happen with Council. You can click the link to see a copy right now.
Beware of imitations this election!
We were amused when another ticket standing for this election styled themselves "Hawkesbury's Future".
The real Future of the Hawkesbury website at futureofthehawkesbury.com has been run by me for some time. I created it to allow Hawkesbury residents to sign petitions and provide their opinion through surveys. Please don't be confused by imitators!
