You speak very well. I found this to be very informative and can see how it must be frustrating at times for you. Let’s hope going forward you get a council working together to deliver even more outcomes. It seems to me you are doing a great job.

Today I met with Chris and Kevin, representatives of the Pitt Town Progress Association to discuss issues about the state of nature strips and mowing around Pitt Town. On the way there, I noticed water over the road on Pitt Town Road (near Glebe Road) caused by failed drainage swales, clogged with bullrushes.
Both issues have repeatedly been represented to Council and TfNSW (Pitt Town Road is a State road) by the Progress Association without success so far.

A perfect way to spend an autumn Sunday was driving to the Vale of Avoca lookout overlooking the Grose River. If you've never been, it's one of the hidden gems of our district.

On the way I saw potholes along Grose Vale Road reported specifically to me by residents pleading for relief. This monster has at times had a witches hat put in it to warn motorists, on a curve near Cabbage Tree Road.

I've forwarded these to Council staff for action.

It bears remembering I'm running a petition to have more attention paid to fixing Grose Vale Road, and my invitation is for you to sign it if you haven't yet.

Councillor Nathan Zamprogno, Will the bridge over the Grose River at Yarramundi ever be built? Or will the Redbank developer simply walk away laughing when the last lot is sold?

Can u set up a petition for St Albans as well. We have a new 'WHEN' campaigne painted in yellow at all our potholes on St Albans road but its falling on deaf ears.

I used to mountain bike ride there. They used to make us ride our bikes up Cabbage Tree Road to the top

continuing: Why? Thr proposed bridge exits onto Springwood Road. Two issues, firstly, Yarramundi Bridge will always flood first, Secondly, Springwood Road to Springwood also floods, so no access to the GWH via that route as well. Common sense dicates, West side of the river should have by pass of North Richmond. That bypass could be constructed below The St John of God Hospital, a high level bridge,on to Crowley lane which could have a Jim Anderson Bridge constructed over it, exiting onto Castlereagh Road, right to Penrith, left to Richmond, straight ahead to the Driftway onto Blacktown Road to the M7,2 and 4. In my view you cannot make the Hawkesbury “bathtub” flood proof, but my proposal and others would improve on what we have. The GR bridge was a soft sell to community by the developer and a Liberal controlled Council to accept the Redbank development. ICAC

What about the roads around the Hawksbery Berger road hasn't been fixed up since the floods from last year and just getting a lot worse. The roads around the south Windsor school is nobetter .But it's amazing how the Hawksbery council can find money to have south Windsor shops footpath all done and have the money to have the netball courts reaper d so Councillor Nathan Zamprogno it would nice if you could look into the rest of the damages of the Hawksbery

There’s a massive crater or two on Yarramundi lane near the Colo soccer fields. Its like a mine field along there!

Its so dangerous this pothole why does council not have a emergency system for instances like this.

I don’t think the Grose River Should be built. Why not spend that money, if there is any left on a much better option in my view.

Most roads in the Hawkesbury area need urgent attention to sunken repaired roads !!

They need to look at WHO they get to fix these roads. The current lot is a waste of $$$. It's chuck a shovel full of porridge in the hole and move to the next one. Lucky to last an hour

Has anyone noticed that local petrol pricing has gone completely crazy? Here are two photos taken today ten minutes apart. On the left is an independent station at Clarendon, on the right is the EG next to Woolworths at Richmond.
That's a difference of 54 cents a litre for E10. What a rort!

I can’t afford to even consider filling a full tank anymore at those insane prices 😞

My suggestion to you is to go and learn about how the fuel prices work. Maybe, just maybe, you'll learn something about why these two prices are different. Also, you should remember to add in your posts to NOT go off at the workers, because the abuse they cop is ridiculous, they have to pay that price too, not just you.

Just like that in Brisbane too. Prices have stayed around $1.88 to $1.95 for 91 here in Coffs Harbour. Prices were fairly steady when I was in Perth earlier this week.

Is that an LGA issue?

I would like to understand the strategy, are the more expensive stations banking on making more for selling less fuel, do the decision makers have no idea on their competitors pricing, are they trying to force the fuel up, are they buying fuel on a different day from the suppliers. The North Richmond Caltex is a classic for having very high prices or very competitive prices.

Metro and pearl all the way….. I’d love more businesses to get on board with them for company fuel cards……

I’ve got a better idea. Nobody go to BP for 1 month. I’ll bet every dollar I’ve got the prices will come down by a lot within a week. Then the following month do the same to Shell etc.

Yep this is quite common. I use the fuel check app. The new service station in South Windsor is around $1.81 however is not on the fuel check app.

Crazy. FYI it’s hasn’t been woolworths for 4 or 5 years. Whilst the docket deals are still available at these sites Woolworths sold all Servos to EG a U.K based company

There is another Service Station corner of George and Argyle Streets Windsor who was $181.5 also

Lack of competition & they kept prices down for Easter. Of course they were going to gouge for school holidays & ANZAC Day

Councillor Nathan Zamprogno It’s no longer Woolworths Petrol. It’s EG Petrol. Woolworths sold its Petrol business some years ago.

Even EG have price diffences between Silverwater and Richmond so must be the operator given the option to charge higher prices

The majors are also priced to take in the "discounts" they offer, Shell, Ampol, EG. Shell, 4c a litre, or whatever it is. Take that off the pump price, and in some circumstances you're close to other competitors. So not really a discount. I don't use them. I use the apps to find the best one.

Groceries or Fuel , Woolworths & Coles can pretty much charge what they want (. SHIT BAGS )

Same in Penrith ..we get ripped off......it's cheaper in places like Bathurst and Oberon ....God only knows why

I Suppose I'm Lucky I Have Dual Fuel , Run On LPG, About $1.00 Litre. Don't Get The Mileage But It's Great Just Running Around Here.

The Hawkesbury River flood of April 2024

Today, I toured areas some affected by the flood as waters neared what we hope is their peak.
This flood is "moderate", meaning its level is not as bad as the floods we've seen in recent years.
At time of writing (8pm Saturday), the gauge at Windsor is at 9.07m and rising slowly.

Here are the peaks at Windsor for earlier floods:

Jul 2022 13.9m
Apr 2022 9.07m
Mar 2022 13.714m
Mar 2021 12.912m
Feb 2020 9.225m

I noticed some differences between this and earlier floods. More debris piled against the bridge at North Richmond (and I believe TfNSW didn't lay down the railings... again).
Yarramundi Lagoon is more swollen and earlier, indicating drainage changes from the Lagoon into the river.

Thank you for all you do for the Hawkesbury. We are inundated with flood alerts, this is not a bad thing, however, I was surprised that the was no warning about the water release from Warragamba dam early Saturday morning and hence bridge closures. Perhaps a lesson learnt?

Not sure what you meant about Yarramundi Lagoon by “this is new suspect drainage patterns have changed” what you showed was a turf field under water from the lagoon which always rises and covers the lagoon bridge to varying degrees - nothing to do with and changes in drainage. All the rain run off from all the area runs into the lagoon and always has.

Jennifer McEvoy it is not all the properties that back onto the water way. Obviously if I have mentioned about the maintenance than ofcourse we have done our part in keeping ours clear of weeds and obstructions. Sadly the some properties I'm mentioning have alot and do 0 in the effort of maintaining it, in the years we have been here. I will be again reaching out to council as like I mentioned. This is the largest amount of water we have had in OUR YARD.

& some areas thar normally flood ok - Bennett Rd, off Blacktown rd; Rd beside oval at Pitt Town; properties along George St/Macquarie St S Windsor

The water authority and nsw government are solely responsible to the damage that will occur again along the Hawkesbury river again. I wonder how much it has cost us over the past 4 floods in 6 years already. These idiots including the nsw government #chris minns spent over $3.3 billion to support sustainability and the clean economy, however not willing to consider spending $2 billion in the future capturing more water in our Warragamba dam and saving thousands of people property, livelihoods and life’s’? There are so many more options to solve the issues, not just rising the same. In 2022 NSW government spent a record budget $112.7 billion on infrastructure, as well as a broad spectrum of measures to support families—including $7.2 billion to boost household budgets, $3.8 billion to give children the best start to life, and $3.3 billion to support sustainability and the clean economy. Not forget the Australia government willing to spend $368 billion on nuclear submarines . I’m at a lost what else we the people can do, as the governments not willing to listen to official government petitions signed by over 85O residents and numerous letters by local major and many other residents including over 15 letters from myself to various MPs. The Warragamba dam is in the to hard bucket and doesn’t mater who is in charge, nothing will change. Remember all the water captured in the Dam is money in the bank of the authorities and we have to pay for the water, plus the overspill damage by the dam. In 2023–24 the Australian Government will provide $4.77 billion in Official Development Assistance (ODA). Which will solve the Warragamba Dam issues twice in one year. It’s a shame, but the Hawkesbury is such a beautiful place with wonderful people, however our governments don’t give us a F.
