Appearing on the ABC News about raising Warragamba Dam

I was pleased to be interviewed by the ABC today on the proposal to raise Warragamba Dam. This project will mitigate against the frequency and severity of floods in the Hawkesbury, and will save life and property.

I'll have much more to say about this soon. Stay tuned.

Interview with 104 year old ANZAC veteran, Bruce Robertson

It was a rare privilege to sit and record the memories of Bruce Robertson earlier this week with Kathryn Gene from Pulse 89.9FM Radio.
It’s hard to encapsulate just how much Bruce's extraordinary 104 year life has taken in.

He shook Charles Kingsford-Smith’s hand and chatted with his crew after Kingsford-Smith led the first trans-Pacific air crossing in 1928 in the "Southern Cross".

He trained with 30 Squadron, right here in the Hawkesbury at RAAF Base Richmond.

As a wireless operator, he was the first to detect and raise the alarm when he heard Japanese Morse Code signals of the mothership submarine off Sydney Heads as it launched two midget submarines into Sydney Harbour in May 1942.

Via Townsville, he deployed to New Guinea and was present at the battles of Kokoda and the Bismarck Sea, relaying vital intelligence of the battles as they unfolded.

Bruce is literally older than the Air Force he joined –– which is a timely reminder that the centenary of our own RAAF Richmond base is next year and deserves an open day and an air show.

Recording and editing this has been a true thrill, and both Bruce’s remarkable memories and his wisdom for young people today (towards the end of the video) make for the best ANZAC day treat I can offer you.

Bloody hell!!! I attended my late father’s regimental descendant’s reunion in the city today and was honoured, out of the blue, to meet the man! Wow! Amazing! Inspirational!

I’ve been working on a project today.
Kathryn Gene from Pulse 89.9FM Radio suggested we travel to the RAAF Richmond base to interview Bruce Robertson, our local 104 year young veteran to film some of his reminiscences as part of the upcoming ANZAC commemorations. The Sergeant’s Mess proved to be the perfect venue.

You speak very well. I found this to be very informative and can see how it must be frustrating at times for you. Let’s hope going forward you get a council working together to deliver even more outcomes. It seems to me you are doing a great job.

Well explained and communicated. Absolutely roads will be a key voting issue/agenda. The very reason many councillors will not be re-elected in my view. The LEP must definitely be updated to be fair and equitable. Ludicrous regulations when it comes to building granny flats and dual occupancy on larger properties and land. Sewage another key issue.We pump sullage in 2024 on Terrace Road Freemans reach 5 minutes from a shopping complex. Why? Infrastructure has let Hawkesbury residents down and for no reason if planned and progressed efficiently and effectively.

Today I met with Chris and Kevin, representatives of the Pitt Town Progress Association to discuss issues about the state of nature strips and mowing around Pitt Town. On the way there, I noticed water over the road on Pitt Town Road (near Glebe Road) caused by failed drainage swales, clogged with bullrushes.
Both issues have repeatedly been represented to Council and TfNSW (Pitt Town Road is a State road) by the Progress Association without success so far.
